Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Canadian government’s immigration department, has announced invitations to foreign nationals seeking permanent residency through the ‘Canadian Experience Class’ program.
In such a situation, this is also an important update for Indians seeking Canadian PR (Permanent Residence) under this immigration program. According to media reports, Express Entry applicants who have received an invitation can now apply for permanent residence in Canada.
On January 8, 2025, Invitations to Apply (ITA) for 1350 applications for permanent residence under Express Entry Draw No. 332 for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) were announced.
The round date and time was 16:02:18 UTC on January 08, 2025, where the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest ranked candidate invited was set at 542. The tie-breaking rule date was December 07, 2024 at 01:10:06 UTC.
This is the first draw for the Canadian Experience Class category in 2025. In the last round, 400 invitations for permanent residence were sent under the Express Entry draw for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) on November 19, 2024. The cut-off was set at 539.
Earlier, the first draw for the Provincial Nominee Program 2025 was held on January 7, 2025, with 471 invitations sent to foreigners to apply, with a cut-off of 793. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration program for skilled workers who wish to become permanent residents of Canada. It requires skilled work experience in Canada and a minimum qualification in language fluency.
To qualify for the Canadian Experience Class, you must have completed at least one year of paid skilled work (or equivalent part-time work) in Canada during the three years prior to submitting your application. Also, you must obtain this work experience while working as a temporary resident in Canada. So far, one Provincial Nominee Program draw result in 2025 and one Canadian Experience Class result have been announced.
